Asheron Realaidain is a Yalaini mage and central character in the story. He rediscovered the lost art of planar magic and with it changed the world of Auberean forever. His research in portal magic inadvertently lead to the demise of his people, thanks in part to Gaerlan for leaving a gateway open on the Olthoi home world. Virindi tampering would later lead to portals appearing on planets that the Yalaini had once explored, including Ispar.

-Asheron was not involved in what happened in Dericost. In fact, the Yalain and Haebrous invasion and defeat of Dericost happened in the Vacari Eipoth, Asheron was not even born till at least 300 years later during the Rhethis Eipoth. By the time BZ defeats Lord Atlan's army, Asheron is only 35, very young for a race that lives to be 1000. The only thing Asheron had to do with BZ was that he rediscovered planar magic in hopes it could be used to stop BZ, and he was part of the group that did banish him and imprison his soul in the crystals.

Nuhmudira was behind the attemped assassination of Elysa and the magical weakening of Asheron so both were incapable of mounting a proper defense against the Olthoi invasion, just so Nuhmudira could make herself out to be the savior of the Isparians.
