Overview[]

Rescue Ayaname Chiyoko.

Prerequisites

You must have completed Castle of Lord Mhoire Quest to access Mhoire Castle and the Throne Room.

Walkthrough & Notes[]

Talk to Sir Draithon at 12.9S 41.7E west of Yanshi for a Attuned Essence Gem.
On the ground at 64.3S, 45.5W (Graveyard), you can find Ayaname Chiyoko way above you. You can use the Attuned Essence Gem to get some dialog.
Head to Mhoire Castle.
Use the Northeast portal to enter the castle.
Use the Great Hall portal inside the room you portal into.
Make your way to the Throne room.
Behind the throne, use the Attuned Essence Gem right in front of the gargoyle style statue to the right in the corner. A portal will appear, enter the portal which takes you to a floating portal at 64.3S 45.5W (be warned it is not a safe drop).
Kill the Pyre Champion and make your way down the stairs to another Pyre Champion.
At the bottom you will find Hoshino Kei and a Wight Kidnapper.
Kill the Wight Kidnapper and loot the Vile Potion. There is only one of these potions per kill, so if you have a group, you need to kill mulitiple times.
Hand the Vile Potion to Ayaname Chiyoko.
Return to Sir Draithon in Yanshi for your reward.

Opening Dialog

Sir Draithon tells you, "Greetings. There is little time, so I'll cut right to the point."

Sir Draithon tells you, "Hoshino Kei's Handmaiden, Ayaname Chiyoko, has been kidnapped!"

Sir Draithon tells you, "Hoshino Kei's rooms in the castle were all but destroyed, again. Ayaname Chiyoko was in the rooms at the time, and we fear she has been abducted to be used as the Princess was in Geraine's rituals..."

Sir Draithon gives you Attuned Essence Gem.

Sir Draithon tells you, "As the damage is similar to Princess Kei's previous abduction, we are beginning the search in the Graveyard in the Direlands once again. If this abduction is the result of further undead aggression against the Royal Family, we'll have to find a more permanent way to put an end to it."

Sir Draithon tells you, "Take this Gem. it is attuned to Ayaname Chiyoko's essence, and should help you find her if you get close to any place where she has passed through since her capture."

Sir Draithon tells you, "If you find her, report back to me. The Prince has many guards already out searching, but I can reach them if one of you is successful."

Giving Vile Potion to Ayaname Chiyoko

You give Ayaname Chiyoko Vile Potion.

With a shudder, Ayaname Chiyoko begins to move.

Ayaname Chiyoko tells you, "Thank you. Without your help, I was likely doomed to a terrible fate."

Ayaname Chiyoko tells you, "How did you find me?"

You explain to Ayaname Chiyoko how you learned of her plight and gained the tools to find her.

Ayaname Chiyoko tells you, "Thank the Light! I feared that they would sacrifice me in some ritual!"

Ayaname Chiyoko tells you, "I must return to the castle at once, and let them know what has happened."

Ayaname Chiyoko touches your hand, and the tingle of a small enchantment passes over you.

Ayaname Chiyoko tells you, "Return to the Guard that sent you and let him know what has transpired. That small enchantment will

stand as proof. Thanks again!"

Rewards Dialog

Sir Draithon examines you briefly, sensing the enchantment Ayaname Chiyoko placed upon you.

Sir Draithon tells you, "You found her! Thank the Light. Borelean will be pleased. Please, allow me to thank you properly for your help."

Sir Draithon gives you Braced Mana Forge Key.

You've earned 125,000,000 experience.

You hand over all of your Attuned Essence Gems.

Sir Draithon tells you, "I'll let the Prince and Princess know immediately. Thank you again."

Sir Draithon tells you, "Thank you again for your help. Ayaname Chiyoko is back at the Castle, and once Asheron is satisfied that she is whole and hale, she will be allowed to return to her duties in the castle."

Other Interactions

The Gem glows brightly for a moment when you activate it, and a Portal appears!

Wight Kidnapper is shattered by your assault!

Wight Kidnapper says, "Nooo! The Master's Master will punish me!"

Update History[]


Shedding Skin Quest introduced. Celebration Ayaname Chiyoko was captured by Undead and replaced Hoshino Kei who had been previously rescued. Learning From Experience XP reward increased from 98,673,542 (10% pxp) to 125,000,000 fixed. The Quest for Freedom Repeat timer changed from 27 days to 20 hours.

Trivia[]

When this quest was first introduced, you had to rescue the bride, Hoshino Kei, who went missing causing the royal wedding to be postponed. During the Celebration event, the quest was updated and now Hoshino's handmaiden, Ayaname Chiyoko, must be rescued instead.

Sir Draithon tells you, "Greetings. There is little time, so I'll cut right to the point."

Sir Draithon tells you, "The Prince's fiance, Hoshino Kei, has been kidnapped!"

Sir Draithon tells you, "Her rooms in the castle were all but destroyed. The only clues we have are the scattered remains of destroyed undead, and the fact that there was a great deal of fire damage to the area."

Sir Draithon tells you, "Since Fire Magics do not do much collateral damage, the fire must've either been mundane, or something indicative of the undead."

Sir Draithon tells you, "As the area damaged is small, and Hoshino Kei was successfully overpowered, so we can also surmise that the undead were few in number, but powerful. That's all we have to go on."

Sir Draithon gives you Attuned Essence Gem.

Sir Draithon tells you, "Take this Gem. it is attuned to Hoshino Kei's essence, and should help you find her if you get close to any place where she has passed through since her capture."

Sir Draithon tells you, "If you find her, report back to me. The Prince is already out searching, but I can reach him if one of you is successful."

The Gem pulses fitfully, giving a sensation of pulling upward.

You hear a faint voice in the back of your mind. It sounds female, and really tired.

"Hello? I can feel your presence, faintly. I can't move. The Undead brought me up to this tower. They carried me through some large castle, and into a Great Hall. The last thing I remember passing before they opened the portal to this tower was a throne of some kind. Please help me, You're my only hope."

The Gem glows brightly for a moment when you activate it, and a Portal appears!

Wight Kidnapper is shattered by your assault!

Wight Kidnapper says, "Nooo! The Master's Master will punish me!"

Hoshino Kei stands there motionless, seeming to be paralyzed by some magic. Perhaps her captors have some means of removing the effect.

You give Hoshino Kei Vile Potion.

With a shudder, Hoshino Kei begins to move.

Hoshino Kei tells you, "Thank you. Without your help, I was likely doomed to a terrible fate."

Hoshino Kei tells you, "How did you find me?"

You explain to Hoshino Kei how you learned of her plight and gained the tools to find her.

Hoshino Kei tells you, "Thank the Light! Borelean is safe. I feared that when they came for me, they had done something to him as well."
